About Us

At Builder Business Builder, we specialise in helping skilled tradespeople—plumbers, electricians, builders, decorators, and more—launch and grow their own businesses. We understand the unique challenges of setting up a trade business, from managing admin to marketing, and we’re here to take the stress out of the process.

Our mission is simple: to empower tradespeople with the tools, systems, and support they need to succeed. With expertise in automation, marketing, and business systems, we’ve helped countless clients transform their skills into thriving, profitable businesses.

Our Story

​

Our founder, Edward, grew up as the son of a carpenter, where he developed a fascination with the built environment and business from a young age. As a teenager, he gained hands-on experience refurbishing family members’ homes, which deepened his appreciation for the trades and sparked a lifelong passion for construction and property.

Inspired by this early exposure, Edward went on to study Civil Engineering at university before beginning his career on-site. He is a Chartered Engineer, a Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers, and a former Structural Engineer. Over the course of his career, Edward worked on some of the UK’s most iconic construction projects, including designing Crossrail stations such as Paddington and Liverpool Street, as well as large private homes in London.

After 10 years working on some of the UK’s most challenging projects, Edward pivoted to entrepreneurship, founding and running an award-winning craft drinks business.

​

Following an MBA from Cranfield School of Management, Edward transitioned into consulting, helping multinational businesses solve complex challenges. Beyond his professional career, Edward also became a part-time property developer, combining his technical knowledge with his passion for transforming spaces.

 

He is also registered as a mentor with the Association of Business Mentors and a graduate of the prestigious Virgin StartUp Scale-Up Programme. These achievements reflect Edward’s dedication to helping others succeed by sharing his expertise and experience.

After several years—and starting a family—Edward felt the calling to give something back and inspire the next generation of tradespeople. This vision led to the creation of Builder Business Builder: a company dedicated to equipping tradespeople with the resources, knowledge, and support they need to build successful businesses.
